Are You a New Nixa Resident? 

  1. Sign up for utility service by visiting Nixa Utilities, 707 W. Center Circle. Call 417-725-3229 for complete details. The form to sign up for utilities can be accessed by clicking HERE.
  2. Do you own pets? Nixa requires all dogs within the city limits to be licensed through City Hall. The license must be renewed each year in January, and owners must show proof of current rabies vaccination. The fee for an animal that is spayed or neutered is $2.00 and $3.00 if the animal is not. Call 417-725-3785 for complete details. Dog tags must be renewed annually.
  3. Sign up for trash and curbside recycling services by contacting Republic Services 417-865-1717 or visit the Republic Services website by clicking HERE.
  4. Visit Nixa’s residential recycling center to properly dispose of items Republic Services does not pick up which includes glass, yard waste, large household appliances, and water heaters, to name a few. Call 417-725-7122 or review the City of Nixa’s recycling information by clicking HERE.
  5. A new home may mean new bedding. The City of Nixa is a member of a solid waste district, which means Nixa residents are able to participate in mattress recycling, a service that is partially funded by grants. You can recycle your boxsprings and mattresses by dropping them off at the BedHead processing facility at 304 SW Main St., Billings, Mo. The cost is $10 per dropped-off item. BedHead will come to your location to pick up your mattresses and box springs for a charge of $25, plus $10 per item. Call 417-824-8799 or visit the BedHead Recycling website by clicking HERE.
  6. A new home may mean new electronics. Nixa’s recycling center is unable to accept computer equipment including monitors, screens, keyboards, and towers. However, there are facilities in Springfield that do accept computer recyclables. Please contact the Computer Recycling Center at 417-866-2588 or visit their website by clicking HERE.

Nixa Parks and Recreation provides essential and valuable community service for residents with choice and access for all our citizens.

The Parks Department operates the Nixa Community Center, known as The X Center. The X Center is home to a large array of activities and amenities including a comprehensive fitness center, large pool, playground, sports programs, aquatic center, and enrichment programs. The Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce works closely with The City of Nixa, Nixa Schools, and Show-Me Christian County to promote economic development in our city and in greater Christian County.
